Job Title: Business Intelligence (BI) & Database Specialist

Position Summary: Primarily responsible for providing support and assistance to the information Technology (IT) Department in its mission to provide, operate, and maintain the company’s Sisense Business Intelligence (BI) Software, SQL data warehouse support and interfaces into different systems.

General Purpose: Our company has a need for Business Intelligence Analyst with experience in data analytics and metrics optimization. We are interested in furthering our data collection and analysis practices, so you will be responsible for instituting new BI policies, procedures and programs from the ground up as well as supporting the SQL database and warehouse. We’ll need you to perform data analysis and put the data we collect to practical use, with the end goal of maximizing profits and increasing our efficiency. You’ll be responsible for processing several different types of data, including those related to our POS systems, ERP, flat files and other systems and databases identified for BI reporting. You will be responsible for creating and deploying BI reports through Sisense, SSRS and other tools as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

BI Software & Data warehouse Support:

●Responsible for participating in the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence

application (Sisense).

●Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.

●Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making

capabilities.

●Able to break down the complex business processes and report via the Sisense BI Application.

●Provide extensive BI support to all corporate departments and stores.

●Maintain our current Microsoft SQL Database environment

●Ability to optimize and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL database

●Ability to setup and maintain database replications

BI & Data warehouse BI Responsibilities:

●Review and validate customer data as it is collected

●Oversee the deployment of data to the data warehouse

●Develop policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data

●Create or discover new ways to utilize the BI Software

●Work with the IT department to deploy software and hardware upgrades that make it possible for us to

leverage big data use cases

●Monitor analytics and metrics results

●Architect to initiate and maintain data deployment in the BI tool and Data warehouse

●Implement new data analysis methodologies

●Review customer files to ensure integrity of data collection and utilization

●Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies

●Create SQL scripts to pull date from different tables and data sources for use in the BI tools and

Datawarehouse

●Create Sisense Reports for Users and maintain current SSRS reporting

●Python and / or Java scripting is a plus in Sisense

Essential Skills and Experience:

●Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field OR an equivalent combination of education

and experience.

●Planning: Ability to think ahead and plan for the use of the BI and related systems over a one to

two-year span

●Management: Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

●Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in Information Technology -specific knowledge

of Business Intelligence environments (Sisense BI Application, Datawarehouse, SQL creation, running

and support abilities).

●Skill assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
